The Town of Embden is seeking volunteers interested in serving on a community committee to help plan a summer event as Maine celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026!
The committee will work with town officials and community members to develop ideas for celebrating The United States, Maine, and Embden’s history and community spirit.
Residents who enjoy planning events, celebrating local history, bringing people together, or helping create something special for the community are encouraged to participate.
Those interested in joining the Celebration Committee are encouraged to contact the Embden Town Office or attend a Select Board meeting to express their interest.
Municipal Elections will be held Friday, March 6th from 10am – 6pm
at the Embden Town Office.

Town Meeting is Saturday, March 7th starting at 12pm.
It will be held at the Embden Community Center.
Due to the storm, the Town Office will be closed on Monday, January 26th.
A discussion will take place at the February 5th Select Board Meeting regarding a proposed change of daytime use of the Embden Community Center to allow RSU 74 to use the facility for students. This change would affect weekday use of the building.
Residents are encouraged to attend.
The meeting will be held at the Embden Community Center at 6:15 p.m.
Selectboard Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 6:15 pm. • Selectboard Work Sessions occur every Thursday at 5:30 pm.
