The Embden Emergency Management Directors work in cooperation with local, state, and federal agencies in acquiring and receiving appropriate aid in the event of a man-made or natural disaster. They also work with the Anson Fire Chief and Board of Selectpersons to plan responses for the Town in the event of an emergency.
Embden’s Emergency Management is also coordinating the Town’s compliance with the federally-mandated National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS was developed by FEMA in response to the September 11th terrorist attacks and represents a national set of standards in responding to future disasters. Compliance, which includes training for most all town employees, is required for the Town to remain eligible for federal funding.
