Real Estate Property Taxes

Tax bills are mailed annually.  You can expect to see a bill around the middle of the year,  that date does fluctuate from year to year.  The property taxes are due in one installment.  The payment is due 45 days AFTER commitment.  Check your bill for more information, or contact the town office staff at (207) 566-5551 ext. 2.

PLEASE NOTE: You will only receive one bill per year.  The bill will have one tear-off coupon at the bottom to submit with your payment.  The municipality has a policy under Title 36, M.R.S.A. Section 906 to apply all payments to the oldest outstanding tax obligation.

This bill covers the Town’s fiscal year which runs from January 1 to December 31.

Payments may be made in person or by mail addressed to: Town of Embden, 809 Embden Pond Road, Embden, ME 04958, and payable to the “Town of Embden.” If paying by mail, please enclose the payment stub from the tax bill, or as much information as possible on the account (account #, address, map/lot number, etc.). If requesting a receipt, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Any taxes not paid by close-of-business at year-end will be listed in the Annual Town Report.

Property Tax information is available at the Town Office.

Please call 207-566-5551 ext.3 if you have any questions regarding your tax bill, or if you need to confirm or update your billing information.
