The Embden Board of Selectmen are holding a public hearing on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Embden Community Center. This hearing is for Embden residents to learn more about the work done by a committee of town members since January to explore the possible withdrawal of Embden students from RSU# 74.
This meeting is only a hearing. A vote is not taking place at this meeting.
The purpose of this hearing is to provide Embden residents with more information regarding a vote taking place on June 10th. The vote on June 10th will be to form a formal committee who will work in conjunction with the Maine Department of Education to determine the viability of an Embden withdrawal from RSU #74. The vote on June 10th is not to decide to withdraw Embden from RSU #74, but to move forward with exploring the viability of doing so.
All those interested in learning more should attend the public hearing on May 29th.
Selectboard Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 6:15 pm. • Selectboard Work Sessions occur every Thursday at 5:30 pm.
