Town of Embden Tax Acquired Property for Sale by Bid
TOWN OF EMBDEN – The Town of Embden, Maine is currently accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in the following tax-acquired property:
- Wentworth Road; Map 004 Lot 041; Total Assessed Value $20,000. 3.28-acre lot, more or less. Minimum bid $15,000.00.
- New Portland Road; Map 001 Lot 036; Total Assessed Value 25,000. 30-acre lot, more or less. Minimum bid $20,000.
Premises may currently be vacant or occupied, unless otherwise noted above.
Late bids will not be opened or considered.
All bids must be sealed in an envelope marked with the following, “Attn: Closed Real Estate Bid Property #1”or “Attn: Closed Real Estate Bid Property #2”and will be publicly opened & read aloud at the September 7th Selectmen’s Meeting. Please include bank check for 10 percent of bid & stamped, self-addressed return envelope. Successful bidder shall have 15 days from the date of the bid acceptance in which to complete the purchase. In the event that a successful bidder fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any or all unsuccessful bidders. Town will issue quit claim deed, no covenants, no warranties. Winner will be responsible for paying the Transfer Tax and filing fees at the Registry of Deeds. The Town of Embden reserves the rights to reject any and all bids.
Sealed bids will be accepted via mail or at the Embden Town Office, 809 Embden Pond Road, Embden ME until 6pm on August 31, 2023.

Independance Day Hours
The Embden Town Office will be closed July 3rd and 4th in celebration of Independence Day.

RSU #74 School Budget Election
The 23/24 School Budget Referendum will be held at the Embden Town Office on 6/13/2023. Polls will be open from 8 am – 8 pm. Absentee ballots are available at the Embden Town Office.

Tuesday June 6th at 7 PM, the Board of Appeals will be holding a Public Hearing for a variance request in Shoreland Zoning on Map 014 Lot 009.
