The Town Clerk will be out of the Office from 11/27/23-12/1/2023

During this week the Office will be closed on Monday November 27th. On Tuesdayand Wednesday it will open at 10am, and on Fridat the Office will be open from 10am -2pm.

MUNICIPAL ELECTION for March 1, 2024

The following positions are elected during the Annual Town Meeting in March. Qualifying signatures must come from registered voters in the Town of Embden. All nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk by the end of business day, January 4, 2024

Public Hearing

September 21st  at 6pm there will be a public hearing to review the State of Maines General On Assistance guidelines for 2023.

Town of Embden Tax Acquired Property for Sale by Bid

TOWN OF EMBDEN – The Town of Embden, Maine is currently accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in the following tax-acquired property:

  1. Wentworth Road; Map 004 Lot 041; Total Assessed Value $20,000. 3.28-acre lot, more or less. Minimum bid $2600.00
  2. New Portland Road; Map 001 Lot 036; Total Assessed Value 25,000. 30-acre lot, more or less. Minimum bid $1800.00

Premises may currently be vacant or occupied, unless otherwise noted above.

Late bids will not be opened or considered.

All bids must be sealed in an envelope marked with the following, “Attn: Closed Real Estate Bid Property #1”or  “Attn: Closed Real Estate Bid Property #2”and will be publicly opened & read aloud at the October 5th Selectmen’s Meeting. Please include bank check for 10 percent of bid & stamped, self-addressed return envelope. Successful bidder shall have 15 days from the date of the bid acceptance in which to complete the purchase.  In the event that a successful bidder fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any or all unsuccessful bidders. Town will issue quit claim deed, no covenants, no warranties. Winner will be responsible for paying the Transfer Tax and filing fees at the Registry of Deeds. The Town of Embden reserves the rights to reject any and all bids.

Sealed bids will be accepted via mail or at the Embden Town Office, 809 Embden Pond Road, Embden ME until 6pm on October 5th, 2023.
